A quiet place for the one you miss
Minnehimmel™ is a memorial page with room for what is hard to say. Every message becomes a light – a star, a lantern, a candle, a firefly or a soul light – and together they become a place family and friends can return to.
The page
Name, dates, a photo and a few words about the one who is gone. Choose one of five themes, and change it whenever you like.
The messages
Anyone who visits can light a candle with a message and a photo. Each message can be public or private – then only you can read what it says.
The sharing
The page gets a link and a QR code. Scan it with the camera and the memorial opens – in the app on iPhone, in the browser on everything else.

Tap – and the message opens
Every star, lantern, candle, firefly and soul light is a message from someone. Tap it, and the words and the photo appear. All messages are also gathered in the Memory Book (Minneboken) – where you can read them together, search, and find the oldest ones when the page shows only the newest.
How it works
Create the page – free
Download the app on iPhone (the Android app is coming), sign in with Apple, and create the memorial page. Add a name, dates, a photo and a few words. Take your time – nothing is visible to others until you choose.
Light the first candles
You and those closest to you can light candles straight away. Write a message, attach a photo, and choose whether it is open to everyone or yours alone.
Publish and share
When you are ready, publish the page and get a link and a QR code. Share it in the obituary, at the grave or in a message. Visitors do not need the app.

QR plaque for the grave
A small engraved plaque with the memorial page's QR code – for the headstone, the memorial site or a bench. Whoever scans it goes straight to the page.

Questions and answers
Is Minnehimmel™ available in English?
The app and the memorial pages are in Norwegian for now. Visitors from abroad can still light a candle: the page opens in any browser, and the few buttons are simple – «Tenn en stjerne» means «light a star», and Minneboken is the Memory Book. The privacy policy, terms and guidelines are available in English below.
Does it cost anything to visit a page or light a candle?
No. Reading a memorial page and lighting a candle are free and do not require the app – it works in the browser on any phone. To light a candle you sign in with your Apple or Google account, so the message is yours and can be deleted by you.
What does it cost to create a memorial page?
Creating and filling a memorial page is free. When you want to share it – by link or QR code – you publish it for NOK 399. That is a one-time payment per page, no subscription.
Who can see the page?
Only those who have the link or the QR code. There is no public directory of memorial pages. As the owner you can make the page private again at any time.
What is a private message?
A candle you light can be public or private. The text of a private message can only be read by you – not the family, not other visitors, and not us. The light still appears on the page.
How long does the page exist?
As long as you want. There is no recurring payment, and you can delete the page or individual messages at any time. Deleted pages stay in a bin for seven days before they are removed for good.
Does it work on Android?
For visitors, yes: every memorial page opens in the browser, and you can light candles, attach photos and read the Memory Book on any phone. Creating and editing your own pages requires the app, which is currently for iPhone – the Android app is in development.

Minnehimmel™ was made by the family of a young boy who passed away far too early. It began as one night sky for one boy – a place where family and friends could light a star when the longing grew heavy, and read what others had written.
